Alert of High Tides Sunday evening onwards

Alert message sent 07/09/2018 15:51:00

Information sent on behalf of The Environment Agency

This is an information message warning of high tides commencing from Sunday night into early next week.  We will be issuing Flood Alerts for parts of the Cumbrian coastline during this period.  This means that flooding is possible to low lying land and roads, with large waves and spray likely.

There may be a possibility of some Flood Warnings being issued early next week for some locations, however we will monitor the forecasts closely over the weekend of likely impacts and will issue warnings accordingly.

There will be some rainfall over the weekend, affecting Cumbria mainly on Saturday with a brighter day following on Sunday.  We do not expect this rainfall to affect river levels.
